The traditional job application process—based on CVs and cover letters—has changed little in decades, despite being seen by many as outdated and inefficient. While technology has made it easy for candidates to apply en masse, recruiters face challenges in identifying diverse and talented individuals among a flood of generic applications, many now written using AI. Vizzy, a certified BCorp, aims to solve this problem through a talent platform that reimagines the CV, helping businesses discover early-career talent based on personality, ambition, and potential.
The UK-based company has announced a £3.65 million seed funding round led by Adjuvo, with participation from Oberon Private Ventures, Rob Wells (former President of Workday Asia), Nigel Wray (serial investor), Sally Wells (recruitment and HR tech founder), Sir Clive Woodward (England Rugby, Team GB), and Robert Dodds (XIX Entertainment).
With this funding, Vizzy will expand its team, scale its platform, and accelerate product innovation. As the job market evolves, the company is positioning itself at the forefront of inclusive, efficient, and human-centric recruitment.
Chris Woodward-Jones, Vizzy’s CEO and Co-Founder, commented: “Launching the full platform in 2023 and seeing global brands transform how they view candidates has been incredible. We’re helping companies uncover hidden talent and significantly reduce time and cost in the hiring process. This investment supports our mission to meet global demand and make hiring smarter and more equitable.”
Vizzy is Modernising Recruitment Through Personalisation and Authenticity
Vizzy was founded in 2023 by Jess Woodward-Jones (Client Director), Chris Woodward-Jones (CEO), and Joe Woodward (Creative Director). Joe’s own experience of unemployment during the pandemic revealed the flaws in the recruitment industry, inspiring the team to build a more human solution.
The platform allows early-career candidates to build highly personalised digital CVs that highlight more than just qualifications. Using interactive content, psychometric insights, and multimedia features, Vizzy helps candidates showcase their true personalities, ambitions, and interests—empowering them to stand out in a crowded job market. Employers gain more authentic insights and better candidate matching.
In a hiring landscape where 65% of applicants use AI tools for their CVs, authenticity has become a major concern. Vizzy’s approach enables companies to assess candidates beyond templated applications, helping them identify individuals who align with their values and culture. The platform has proven especially valuable for social mobility organisations and non-profits focused on equitable hiring.
Trusted by Global Brands and Backed by a Recruitment-Focused Community
Vizzy works with iconic companies like Louis Vuitton, Virgin, Burberry, WHSmith, and PizzaExpress. These partners use the platform to gain deeper insights into candidate potential and streamline hiring.
Peter Kong, Head of Talent Acquisition for North Asia at Louis Vuitton, said: “Through Vizzy, we’ve seen major efficiency gains and an improved ability to attract top talent.”
Kate Harcourt, Group Head of Talent Acquisition at WHSmith, added: “Vizzy has helped us identify our most engaged applicants faster and revealed key traits like ambition and personality.”
Sarah Lock, Recruitment Lead at Virgin Group, remarked: “Vizzy’s innovative, disruptive take on the CV aligns perfectly with our mission to drive positive change.”
Beyond its technology, Vizzy is building a supportive community around early-career recruitment. Its “Graduate Guide” podcast has attracted millions of views, providing advice and inspiration to job seekers navigating their first steps.
Mark Foster-Brown, CEO of Adjuvo, stated: “We back transformational tech that delivers real-world impact. Vizzy offers a CV fit for digital natives—enabling job seekers to present their full selves while giving employers a clearer view of each individual’s strengths. Our members are thrilled to support the team as they scale.”
