Mistral, a French AI startup, has launched a new product designed to help businesses work smarter. Called Le Chat Enterprise, the Mistral AI assistant builds on Mistral’s earlier version of Le Chat, released last year. This new tool is designed to support daily work by making it easier to access and use company data.

Mistral creates large language models (LLMs), the same technology that powers tools like ChatGPT. The company has quickly become one of Europe’s strongest players in the AI field.

Mistral AI Assistant Built for Workplaces

Le Chat Enterprise connects with platforms like Google Drive, OneDrive, SharePoint, Gmail, and Google Calendar. This means employees can use natural language to search across different tools at once. For example, a worker can ask the assistant to find a meeting note, a file, or an email — without switching apps.

The tool also comes with pre-made templates. These templates help teams automate daily tasks. Workers can use it to write weekly updates, summarize reports, or analyze data. These features are very similar to Microsoft’s Copilot, which is part of apps like Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

A Startup Competing With Big Tech

Mistral has raised over €1 billion and is targeting large business clients. It says its open-source approach is safer and gives companies more control over their data. Le Chat Enterprise can run in the cloud or be installed directly on a company’s own servers.

Big names like BNP Paribas and AXA are already using Mistral’s tools. In 2024, Mistral reached around €30 million in annual recurring revenue. With a €5.8 billion valuation, it’s now Europe’s most valuable AI startup.

Mistral’s AI assistant is designed to make enterprise work easier, more secure, and more efficient. As demand for business-ready AI tools grows, the startup is clearly positioning itself as a strong alternative to Big Tech.
